The Drawing Board!

Recommended Posts

I had the idea, specifically for Career mode, about having a pre-VAB construction phase where you would plan out the layout for your rocket, similar to how the VAB is now, except it would be in a little mock-up style design with Kerbal rocket scientists discussing it in the background. Or something like that.

I think that this "Pre-Construction" phase could add realism (in a sense), because you would actually have to wait a certain amount of time for a rocket to be constructed (but only for like 2 minutes or some such a thing), but in the mean time, you could fly pre-made Stock crafts to pass the time.

Discuss! I don't mean for this to be a solid idea.

This has actually been discussed before. Not too long ago, now that I think about it. It's probably been brought up even before that.

There it is. Some good thoughts and stuff came up in that thread, I'd say give it a read. Just a couple days before that thread was created, I remember seeing whiteboards talked about...though briefly, I think in another thread about the mission control building. Or something like that. I forget 'cause it was a while ago now >.>

My thought is that it's too easy to build a rocket already, and to muck it up with more stuff wont save you time.

HOWEVER:

My saved vehicle list is REALLY long, and it would be nice if I have a quick chalkboard mockup of the vehicles as I was scrolling through that menu. Some sort of wireframe the game could automatically generate. A thumbnail.

This thread is quite old. Please consider starting a new thread rather than reviving this one.
