Request template model

Recommended Posts

What i feel that is currently lacking is a 'template' for 3d models

i mean like a blender/3dsmax file, that has the collision and textures applied and ready to correctly import into game

this could greatly help people in visualizing scale, and not have to start from scratch

it can be a simple cube it really doesn't matter as long as it correctly loads into partslab and ksp

so lets say if some one wants to make a wing

instead of starting from absolute scratch they can mod the cube into the shape required

im not a 3d model expert or anything so i dont know how textures would work 'universally' but it should greatly help people in debuging

by haveing an example of what works

thanks!

I created a simple toy rocket mesh to be a basis for understanding how 3dsmax is incorperated into the Kerbal Space Program.

In the folder is:

-The template 3ds max file which has the mesh, and a command module for scale,

-A folder ready to put the model in game; which has the textures in .png and .psd and a picture of model in comparison to ingame objects.

-A readme detailing further information

The model itself cannot connect to any other piece than the module, and it's one solid body just for ease when modeling. Also, I'd be more than happy to continually update this with more items, or better materials to work from.

(I totally stole the read me format from the SDK guys, but nothing's worse than a poorly formatted readme ;D)
