My First Munbase

Weegee

Recommended Posts

I've been playing KSP off and on for a few months now. I've made a few Mun and Minmus landings, but today I decided I wanted to take things up a notch. I decided I wanted to make a Mun base! I didn't take any pictures during the flight since I was having a lot of trouble and didn't know if it would work.

Anyway, PICTURES! :D

Like the last image said, there is still some work to be done. I'm planning on shipping up at least a rover, maybe some more equipment. And eventually, I will send a shuttle with supplies, then a shuttle to switch out the crew. Stay tuned, and please give feedback!

Edit: Figured out how to embed album

Alright, today I designed a rover and flew 2 of them (for weight balance/backup :P) to the Mun. It turns out being quite interesting, so make sure to look at all the pictures!

During the course of bringing the rovers back, I learned that they could have definitely used more solar panels, but it'll be okay. I also learned that it doesn't like going sideways on hills at all, especially on high speeds. These things should be manageable, but if they aren't, I can just send up new ones.

Anyway, now that I have rovers I don't know what to do next. Currently, I can't do much more than drive kerbals around and take "samples". I haven't really used mods yet, but I might download Kethane, then make a few probes and send a miner. Then once I have that, I could set up a refueling station and all kinda of other fun things, and maybe make a actual habitation, rather than a science base.

But I'll do what you think I should do next, so please tell me what you'd want to see!
