Remove Confirmation Dialog for Terminating Debris from the Tracking Station

Recommended Posts

Title says it all. The confirmation dialog seems unnecessary for 'debris' objects since the debris tab must be deliberately selected. After some orbital construction projects, I am looking to remove a large chunk of debris from orbit. The extra mouse clicks add up. It's a trivial point, yes, but it's a quality-of-life thing and would be a relatively simple adjustment.

I'd rather not use the max debris slider, since I'm only after some specific bits.

If you're only after specific bits of debris then what if you select and delete the wrong one? I'm sure somebody must have pieces of debris that are of value to them (perhaps a decoupled stage they'd forgotten about which had a docking port and fuel remaining?). If squad were to remove the confirmation we'd soon be seeing threads like this but with 'Add' rather than 'Remove' in the title.

It is a bit of a pain to delete multiple pieces of debris. What might be a middle-way solution would be to be able to select multiple pieces of debris, and then delete them all at once, keeping the confirmation dialogue.

I do not agree! All deletions should require a confirmation. Always!

I often bring station pieces to orbit (or build them with orbital construction) to be picked up by a tug. These pieces most of the time do not have a control node, automatically marking them as debris. I definitely do not want to loose them just because I accidentally clicked 'terminate' instead of 'fly'

I like the mass delete idea here best. To make Tex happy, I think the debris to be mass deleted should be listed in the confirm dialog. Speaking of space station construction, I haven't done that in a while. Good thing I have the Horizon core up in the million mile orbit (I did actually unit convert, it's in a near perfect million mile orbit :sticktongue:).

How about when you click on a piece of debris (or anything in the tracking station actually), you get a small snapshot of the debris (or object) on the confirmation window?

Just the craft with no skybox would be nice, so you can see if it's some trash, decoupler, burnt out stage etc
