Can i put more tanks on ??

Recommended Posts

i'm not being a troll (or at least not trying to be)the title clearly says "How many (orange) tanks can u link ??" the confusing part is the "can u" part and the post is pretty much just a question

Putting the mining rig in middle of linked ships > can I add another 2x large tanks at bow ?
, so i'm really confused

Also i wouldn't break the forum rules and get myself banned :(

Depends, what's the bow on that thing? xD. But seriously, on really long chains like that, I would recommend a tractor design anyway (that is, engines on the front, think it's like the locomotive on a train). It will be much more stable and manage wobble, even with those crappy medium docking ports. One hint for that, the engine ginballs kind of don't work when they are forwards of the center of mass (they actually work, but inverted), so lock them and steer with reaction wheels/RCS.

For this particular problem you face, and toasve all that hardware in orbit, you can build a nuclear drive section for this ship, big cross with engines on the tips. As long as you have T/W>0.1, you only care about isp for range outside of a gravity well.

Rune. Learnt form experience.

any reason why you have LV-30/45s, LV-Ns and backwards facing LV-909s?

Seriously? You've never mounted retros on your ships? Leave them shut off and bind both forward and backward facing engines in a way that shuts off one set at the same time as the other is activated.

For instance:

Press 1:

rear engines activate, forward engines shut down

press 2:

rear engines shut down, forward engines activate

Very useful for tugs
