Question about steam key

So I bought KSP a very very long time ago and I was interested in getting back into the game. Where would one have to go in order to get a steam key. Would I have to re-buy the game or since I already bought it, can I have it?

Look on the KSP store where you download the game.

Ok so I found the steam transfer key but it didn't show my key? Does it go to my email or...?

why dont you just download the standalone version anyways?

The reason I want it on steam is because it will be much easier to update since all updates on steam are automatic, plus it would be nice to have all my stuff linked together.

So, you went to My Account > Kerbal Space Program (look to the right) > Transfer to steam? It gave me a steam key without problem. That is rather strange. Also, once you transfer to steam, the steam key should be below "Products Purchased"
