Overlapping custom key binds

Lets say you have multiple functional stages, so you combine some of them on the 1 - 0 keys.

If I drop away a section that had some functions tied to a key I am using for more functions on another stage, do the functions for the next active stage remain tied to that key when the other functions no longer exist?

I appreciate the feedback, solves a few things if it does work that way.
