Stabilizing awkward payloads during liftoff

Hello everyone! I'm still pretty new, and I've had a few (mis)adventures already. I am taking on a Space Station now, and wanted to ask about how people stabilize their space station payloads. They seem to be a strange shape and not easy to keep from wobbling to death during liftoff. Here's the solution I'm testing with right now:

It works great so long as I don't do any physics acceleration!

Yeah, that's gonna be pretty wobbly. You might be better splitting it up.
