Stand-up comedians worth to watch

I recently discovered stand-up and I like it very much but since it's almost nonexistent in Poland I was wondering could you recommend some good comedians. I've watched George Carlin, Sarah Silverman and Louis CK and they are really good (such a shame Carlin is gone). I know that there is a new season of "Louie" coming in the next year but apart from this do you have any recommendations? :)

I'd recommend Doug Stanhope and Bill Hicks. They're both Carlin-esque, so don't watch if you have kids around. I'd recommend Robin Williams if you like a lot of action and creative jokes, don't watch with kids though. I'd also recommend Bill Cosby for any family gatherings or if you have kids around, he's mostly clean but uses the occasional bad word.

Here are some shows to get you started:

Bill Cosby:

Robin Williams:

You're gonna have to look up Stanhope yourself, i don't feel safe posting a link to one of his shows with the cursing.

Anyway, it's always nice seeing a fellow Carlin fan.

Everyone from the U.S. version Whose Line is it Anyway. Ryan Stiles, Colin Mochrie, Wayne Brady, Drew Carrey, Greg Proops, Brad Sherwood, Chip Esten, etc.

I've seen every episode - it's a shame that Drew Carey is gone but the new host (Aisha Taylor?) is slowly getting better :) But WLIIA is more an improp than stans-up, no?

Thanks everyone, that's a lots of laugh coming :)

Most of the obvious ones have been covered.

Did I miss Bill Bailey?

Jack Dee is probably worth a look, used to love his deadpan humor - 'thanks for the applause, you weren't to know I've a splitting headache'.

Keith Farnan (I actually used to work with this guy)
