Can't take control of detatchable probe

Hey all,

I have made a craft that works fine for getting to minmus and back. My plan is to fly it to minmus, detatch a probe while in orbit, then return the main craft and leave the probe there. I have plopped a simple prob design on the top of my ship, but when I detatch it in orbit I can't take control of it! Right clicking on it does nothing. I have tested the probe separately and it seems fine. Can anybody tell me what im doing wrong?

Do you know that to switch ship you have to use a special key ? Look at the key biding

Use [ and ] keys to switch between nearby ships. Or you can switch in map view by left-clicking on the ship's icon and selecting "switch to". Or you can use tracking station.

[Cranium]

Use the quick switch keys to go back and forth between nearby crafts and debris.

Square brackets are the keys used by default: [ ]
