Since bobcat has decided to get rid of the .craft files of the MIR space station I have decided to recreate them without the MIR ASAS as well as possible recreate the ISS community station without the MIR ASAS as well.

So I Understand this does not solve the issue of downloading the Historical Pack or the ISS pack and hitting the craft files right out of there, but if you download this pack (soon to be released) you will have each module with a launcher (again historical as I know) so you can build them

Did you forget to... you know, include the files? This section is for completed add-ons. As it currently stands, this isn't a thread for Add-Ons, it's an advertisement for your channel. I'm sure that wasn't your intent and you'll edit your post to include a link. :)

It's not for my peace of mind - it's to keep the mods from moving (or worse, locking) your thread. Current status would be "unreleased", so you can see why they would move it out of "releases".

That said, I do look forward to when you have completed your work. I built MIR from the Soviet Pack but had to include the ASAS from an older version - with all the troubles that caused. It will be nice if people don't need to go through that hassle and can build MIR without an obsolete part. Hopefully, BobCat will give us updated files in the next version.

As for why you cannot upload multiple craft files to SpacePort? I'd ask "why are you trying to upload them separately?" Put them all in one .zip since people are going to want to use all six modules to build the station. If that doesn't work, I can only wish you luck.

The mod has been released. It is not mine, which I already said. I put it in here so people can find it since many download bobcats mods and have no .craft files to go off of. But you sir, are just trying to be a douche. But so are many people that troll forums.

But what should we expect from an obvious forum troll.

You have nearly 800 posts in (if I give you the benefit of joining on July 1 which is 90 days ) 9 posts per day.

I'm in full agreement with HeadHunter67 on this one. He is most certainly not a troll - a troll isn't someone who disagrees with you.

The Add-on Releases section is for custom parts or plugins you have authored yourself, and maybe the occassional "welded" part or reconfigured stock part. It is not for sharing craft files.

And yes, this definitely smells like an advert for a channel.

OK, I'll break it down so it's clearer to you:

You created a thread in Mod Releases for craft files - files that you still did not include a link to in this thread. So you've released nothing. In fact, the only link I see is for your channel.

It's clear to me that this was your primary intent - to advertise your YouTube channel. This isn't the section for that. I tried to give you some good advice, and a heads-up on the expectations the moderators have for this section. I even tried to pay you a compliment. But you're looking to start something - I'm not here to argue with you.

Yes, I have an average of about 10 posts a day. Many of them are trying to help people with issues just like yours - but usually, they have the good grace to be grateful about it.

Whereas, of your 13 posts, 4 of them have been in a thread which should, by rights, be locked until you have something to actually contribute.

Maybe you need more than well-intentioned advice from a fellow member. I'll remind someone who can actually solve this problem.

You seem to be very confused here, Headhunter isn't a forum troll nor does he want to become one.

This place is for Add-On Releases and Projects. Basically, add-ons and other things that have already been completed and are meant to be released to the public should go here. They should include download links, pictures and a description about the mod/project/tool, and have a liscence. From what I can tell is that you are uploading .craft files of the MIR space station. Since this is more of a craft fie and not a mod or addon, or even a tool, it should by right belong into the Spacecraft Exchange.

And the part about spaceport, let me clarify that.

Headhunter appreciates your work and would like to see you upload the files to space port, but he is saying if you put all the six craft files into a zip file, it will be much easier to upload and much easier for others to download. Is it not hard to understand that he is actually trying to give you advice?

Anyway I hope this clears up and it would be nice to see the MIR on spaceport. :D

I love the fact you have been in this community for a whole 3 months and are claiming threads "by rights" should be locked.

Get off your high horse kid. I posted thinking it would be easy to get to spaceport, and I was wrong.

And I find it hilarious that you claim to be helping people but you have no idea how to upload to spaceport.

I have no need to know how. I don't mod for KSP. We have one thing in common, at least.

I myself maintain one mod on Spaceport, often uploading updates. You should ask for help in the dedicated Spaceport subforums.

Better yet, upload your craft files to a Dropbox account, and link to the zip files from there in the Spacecraft Exchange.

But its up with the first 3 craft files. If this thread is in the wrong thread so be it the mods can decide that; not you headhunter.

I was not developing my own unique .craft files but simply trying to fill the void where bobcat deleted his because of the MIR ASAS.

If this thread is in the wrong thread so be it the mods can decide that; not you headhunter.

While mods do indeed have the final say over where threads should be moved, HeadHunter is merely stating an observation from countless other folks who were less fortunate to have their threads moved/deleted.

Not long ago a member of the community repackaged the KerbTown and Kerbin City add-ons together into one download, believing he was doing everyone a service. Unfortunately, the moderators deleted it because he was technically redistributing whole mods without the rightful creator's permission. What you're doing is quite similar - even more so now that you've admitted your work isn't original.

All in all I guess it's up to the moderators to settle this.

And if you are going to continue uploading this please send a request to Bobcat Industries for permission to redistribute the craft files.

But still love your mod. As I use it for my refueling station.

As I said, the advice I was offering was not for my sake - it's up to you how you choose to deal with a reminder.

I'm sorry I can't help you with your remaining problem - but I'm sure someone will be along eventually who will.

As for the files, are these the same files that you were begging for in the BobCat thread last night and that Tonupboy sent you a link to?

Thanks so much for your hard work. I hope when you copied the files you were sent, you remembered to realign the solar panel on the MIR Core so that it extends properly...

Well you are redistributing part of the mods.

While the person who packaged KerbTown and Kerbin City can be related to someone taking your two cars and smashing them together without your permission, you're taking the car tires and smashing those together without permission instead.

It's kinda the same thing.

And uh, even so, it won't hurt to ask for permission.
