BamBam Posted December 20, 2011 Share Posted December 20, 2011 So, using the component space shuttle, with some of the c7 tanks strapped on the sides 'armageddon style' and using the c7 ax-301 engine. the shuttle flies fairly well. trouble is, once i make orbit i have just about used up the fuel in the strap on tanks, and there is not enough to get the whole contraption to the moon and back.leaving aside practicality and common sense, is there a way to build a big giant booster in the place of the shuttle et? i tried putting a 3m tank there and some boosters but it just explodes when i go to the pad. the stack pictured and .craft file included actually clears the pad, but once the boosters separate the thrust is so unbalanced that it goes all crazy. the perfect solution would be independent throttle control of the three shuttle engines from the big giant booster, but i dont think that is possible...... is it? BamBam Posted December 20, 2011 Author Share Posted December 20, 2011 OK, NEVERMINDall i had to do was change engines, duh.........so, the component shuttle, plus the strap on tanks, plus the vanilla lvt3000 engines got me there.now i just have to work on the landing..
