Re-Entry Effects

I never seem to get re-entry effects, but I've seen them on many youtube videos.

Is it a setting or option, or is my KSP just messed up [i have the vanilla steam version, no mods]

You either re-enter the atmosphere at low speeds or you have the effects turned off.

Turn ut on by going to the main menu. Press setting and then to video. You can see it in the left corner.

Also, make sure you are NOT using the "Fallback part shaders"

Check what "Aerodynamic FX quality" is set to. If you haven't changed any settings since you first loaded up the game it should be on "Normal", the default setting. If that's all working fine, then you're either entering the atmosphere too slowly (congratulations) or the game is broken in some way.

Just to be sure, and I apoligize for having to ask this, this is the paid version not the demo correct?

If you're going fast enough, it's really easy. I've actually gotten these effects going upwards into space, which can't be good, but hey, it looks cool.

I have the same problem, supersonic effect happens but reentry flames not. I already checked everything, but the game still without effects on reentry. the game is probably broken somewhere. but, anyway, check settings
