Yes, it's totally called F2-mode.

This is a basic thing. Hide notifications like "Board" and "Grab" when you hide the HUD with F2. This could also extend to time-warp and quicksave notifications (aka the bane of my screenshots' existence). It could make taking screenshots and recording easier.
