Due to popular demand and my own decisions, this is now a Historical Aircraft thread!

To suggest a Plane, it MUST meet these requirements:

1. You must include a name, nationality, and a pic showing side, front and top profiles (This is a good example of the picture part)

2. It has to be PRACTICAL (No Concept crafts that never flew, or planes that never got off the ground, Late WWII German Prototype planes are exempt from this on account that the actually did something in the war)

I am surprised that nobody has posted anything really substantial about this...

Well here it is, about an hours worth of tinkering, failing, and a little bit of over-excitement on the first landing.

Its design was revolutionary, and the Me 163 was capable of performance unrivaled at the time. German test pilot Heini Dittmar in early July 1944 reached 1,130 km/h (700 mph), not broken in terms of absolute speed until November 1947. Over 300 aircraft were built; however, the Komet proved ineffective as a fighter, having been responsible for the destruction of only about nine Allied aircraft (16 air victories for 10 losses, according to other sources)."

Imgur is way easier for sharing images, as it can give you directly the full code for displaying an image in the forums

Ok i'll try that. The images are removed from the Dropbox to save space, and uploading to Imgr.

You can see them if they are put in the public dropbox folder and shared with the public link (RMB on the file).

I tried building one a while back. The wings looked terrible and it was too unstable to fly. By too unstable, I mean stuff like 90* oscillations in any and every direction. Just persuading it not to nosedive off the end of the runway was a challenge!

I made like 6 models of that a long time ago and some of it used jet engines, solid rocket boosters, aerospikes. They all landed on skids and had limited fuel

Lol, my first try didn't lift off. Second ran out of power and crashed. This is the third iteration with a hidden RTG. It has one of those new inline mini rockomaxes and two radials clipped in ever-so-neatly to give it enough thrust AND not be noticeable unless you look closely.

Is there a like cut off point for when the aircraft suggested have been made? like there are some historical craft in the 1960's but are u only doing WWI-WWII?
