audio and visual effects from tyres when landing planes on the runway

I've been mostly messing about with space planes recently and coming down from orbit and landing on the runway is so satisfying. The only thing it's missing is that tyre screech and puff of smoke as the wheels hit the tarmac, that would really complete the space-plane experience for me!

Would it be possible for the tyres to screech and produce smoke under certain conditions, ie only when landing on tarmac and when horizontal and vertical speeds are above a certain point? It would be really cool if a bouncy landing would result in several squeals from the tyres!

I like that suggestion. I think Squad probably plans to add a whole load of sounds later on in development. Compared to the depth and detail of the rest of the gameplay, the sounds are missing a lot.

If anyone has insight as to how this would be modded please let me know. I'm attempting to add afterburner effects to a jet engine. I've been able to mod the part to have two modes with different performance, but I am coming up empty on applying the effects while in the afterburn mode. http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/48085-Help-A-Noob/page4.
