Capturing Dres orbit

Hey Guys, I'm planning a large scale mission to Dres and am wondering if you guys have any tips or tricks for getting to Dres. I've tried a few times but always miss by just a little.

Dres is mildly eccentric and highly inclined. You WILL need to make a mid course correction to get an intercept. Reccomended that you do it at the AN/DN to maximize efficiency on the inclination change and then do some other stuff to actually get a good dres intersect.

I see, but is there any way to reduce the Delta-V needed to get a stable orbit?

Not really. Just catch Dres where it's orbital plane intersects yours, and then just get a stable orbit once you're in Dres' soi. I've done quite a few missions to Dres (mostly fuel tankers), it's not as difficult as it looks.

The real trick at Dres is getting an encounter because its SOI is so small. Once you have an encounter, the most efficient way to capture into orbit is to tweak your Pe as low as possible (which is pretty low given it has no atmosphere) so the effect on your Ap is maximized.

I used to fail my missions to Dres by using way too much delta v until I used this instead of kerbal alarm clock or visually plotting the transfer window. It will compute a chart of launch dates/deltavs which is very helpful for dres/moho/eeloo missions

And I generally do this in 2 burns('mid course plane change' in the calculator). The first being the ejection burn at kerbin's plane for whatever delta v the calculator tells you. The second to match planes with Dres at the AN/DN. You will get a close encounter after the second burn or may need to increase your prograde/retrograde velocities a little.
