switchting from vertical to horizontal and vice versa

Recommended Posts

I was wondering this.

lets say i have a normal ship designed. normal in the way that it has a control pod at the top, , engines and whatnot.

topdown construction.

then I attach a docking port in the "back( or the side, depends on who you look at it)

when i now fly that thing and chose the docking port and say "control from here"...

will the navball adjust and such ?

could I use that mechanic to land a rocket not vertically but horzontally ?

thx in advance

Yes, the navball adjusts. RCS and torque controls adjust too. The only thing that won't adjust is the engine so if you're not careful you may start accelerating in very different direction than you intend to.

sweet. so i would need action groups to activate / deactivate the necessary engines according to movement direction.

which reminds me: is there a way to assign "control from here" to key bindings ?

No, you must manually change controll, Unless there's a mod for it...
