eating, drinking, sleeping, and an insanity bar for the kerbals !!

Recommended Posts

i was thinking about giving every kerbal an insanity bar, which drops down and higher up!!,if the kerbal doesn't eat, drink or sleep the insanity bar would drop down,if the kerbal doesn't see any other kerbal for awhile the insanity would drop down, and eventually go crazy,he would make the ship crash, and if he's on eve,he would start screaming and then die :P

Communication skills, in the civilized society, is very important. Having the ability to communicate well allows one to convey information, thoughts and ideas in such a way where what you are trying to express is understood in a way where your information can be absorbed and then fully understood or allow discussion to take place thus expanding on your information.

Other wise, your thoughts, information or ideas are considered to be so much gibberish that they are discarded as such and people think less of you, if they think of you at all.

The first step towards gaining communication skills is organizing your thoughts before uttering a word or writing a sentence. If people can understand you they can then understand what information you are offering to the world.

While I confess that I am not an English major, I do pride myself on being understood.

Please do not ask for a TL;DR. I will not give you a dumbed down version on this information. It is too important to make it less so.

Because this isn't technically life support I'll leave this thread open. I do suggest you read this thread though: http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/36863-What-not-to-suggest

Aside from the quality of the whole form of your new thread, let me just say that instead of "eating and drinking" it's better to simply have "nutrients" or something like that.

Introduction of a new need is creating more mess in the game, so it's better to reduce its impact as much as possible.

(I feel the same about the current "liquid fuel" and "oxidizer" division. Nobody needs an oxidizer alone and it just increases time consumption and mess. I'd just use "bipropellant" instead.)

As far as insanity goes, it seems to be active in subtle ways. I had an absolute brown-pants coward of a Kerbal get trapped on the Mun with no ship (he bailed out and landed using his jetpack and bouncing on his head) for about a year of game time. (Okay, I forgot to rescue him after I loaded up the next time...) When he was finally picked up, all he did was the wide, open-mouth grin. Constantly. No matter what was happening. Liftoff. Transfer. Maneuver. Docking. Atmospheric entry. While his resucers were screaming in terror as the rescue craft came close to crashing.

Honestly, it was kind of creepy.

OK. One thing you should keep in mind is that sleep deprivation can cause a person to become seriously confused. The result could very well be mistaken for insanity.

That being said, I don't think I would like the idea of my Kerbals going insane.

However, if a mod or an addition to the game was created, I would think that the Kerbal's courage and stupidity levels would act as a modifier for the values of your insanity bar.

well,if this was implemented,it won't really add any new parts besides one,and it's a little house, just like the marsone mission house ,you send this house to some moon\planet,so the kerbal would stay there and do research

Please put spaces after punctuation marks.

This has been a grammar tip with SuperWeegee.

Insanity can also take several differnt forms.

  • Violent (Pretty much what you are suggesting.)
  • Schizophrenic ( Hey! I'm no longer alone. I have a friend that only I can see.)
  • Catatonia (The lights are on, but nobody is home.)
  • Cuckoo for coco puffs (Well, yeah.)

To name a few. :)

ya, we don't want this to go complicated, just make the kerbal kill him self by removing his helmet(after going coco)

Hmmmmmm.... (Eyes Jeb closely)

Gonna have to put a lock on the helmet, Jeb. Oh, and here is a nice, new jacket for you. Don't mind the sleeves, we can tighten, I mean, adjust those during the fitting process.

;)
