A few ideas...

I was thinking of a few ideas and I was curious on if or how they could be implemented:

1. On the tech tree, if randomly generated planets were ever added, what about a section where you could upgrade the tracking station/new building to find the new planets, so people couldn't find them from the start, or maybe a tech line that allows the building of orbited telescopes!

2. i was curious about whether there would be a penalty for the loss of kerbals? Like a money penalty? Perhaps this is why kerbals are before probes in the tech tree

Yeah, the discovery mechanic is planned. Although it will work with the current solar system with new bodies that get added and maybe some small old ones (Dres? Gilly? Pol?).

Thanks for the replies guys! I'd never seen that list before! I think that the rediscovering of old planets makes sense when Eeloo becomes a moon to the second gas giant!

I have another suggestion:

Why not make some of the tech tree require visiting other planets?

for *example*- landing on duna will unlock the big mainsail engine,

this way, we are forced to go to other planets and try hard with the current tech,

I'd like random asteroid or comets that could impact planets... these COULD be destroyed if they were going to collide with kerbal, for example.

For one it railroads the player too much, the current system (once it gets added soon) is a lot more flexible allowing you to freely pick where you want to go and what kind of experiments you want to do, and what tech you want to unlock. Also it already requires you to go to other planets as the amount of science for studying Kerbin, the Mun and Minmus isn't enough to unlock everything.
