I don't know if this has been suggested before, I looked everywhere.

So the basic idea is to set up tasks for Kerbals, so while you are controlling one, the other kerbal is doing what you have assigned him to do, without you actually having to control each one individually.

This idea was brought up to me since I've started planning to build a Mun Base, with rovers that deliver fuel to the base from the mining spot (Kethane), so like, assign a Kerbal to drive the rover to the mine, gather fuel then come back to the base, without you having to control it all the way to the place and back.

With the Science addition coming up, it would be nice to see part of the crew actually gathering the "specimens" for analysis and the other part doing something else.

I would love this.

I often think about this in the context of the Davon Supply Mod, the Life Support mods, kOS, MechJeb, RemoteTech & Kethane mining. When I first read about the kOS mod, I envisioned setting up automated resupply missions to my space station while my main mission to another planet is going on. But of course the problem is you can only have influence or control over one entity at a time. So it would be neat for example have an automated task setup like something in kOS/Mechjeb and the click on the probe/AI to "Do Task A" and then the ship with that computer on it would undock, go to a refueler, fill up, come back and transfer it or what ever else you have in mind.

What if you could also make Bill and Bob follow (walk with you) while on a planet instead of doing one by one?

I think this would come much later in the development though, around 0.40 or something.

Also I think Autopilot has a different context than AI or player Controlled. It's not about Squad making a MechJeb for you but instead allowing other Kerbals and Probes to do Tasks that you setup while you're controlling your main person.
