modbox555
Hey guys, new to this forum, but have been playing KSP for a year now. I know that the 64 bit version is new so I'm not going to mention the issues I'm having with it right now. I'll just wait for more stable releases, but I've been tampering with KAS trying to get it to work, even with the in official patches thy have been posted here. I've uninstalled, reinstalled the whole sha bang trying to get KAS to work. It just isn't worth it to play it without it. My temporary workaround is the fact that if attach parts to the outside of a rocket , or if I'm using b9, inside a cargo bay, I can get away without containers but it's messy. At this point, i think I'll have to wait till the official release of the next version but I thought posting this was worth a shot. What do you guys think? (Symtom: won't show up on kerbals back, won't clear from list)I'm not sure if your problem is related to the same one I'm currently having, but after some testing it seems the only part that causes this bug for me is the radial parachute, I am not 100% sure about this but it seems to be an issue with Real Chutes since it modifies parachutes. Once I removed Real Chutes I was able to grab the chutes out of the containers, however Real Chutes is far too essential for me to play without . Guess I'll be packing parachutes in some cargo bays then, now to rescue that runaway science lab on a decaying orbit.

To fix the radial parachute you have to make a small personal modification to a file in the KAS mod folder.HERE is an unofficial way to get radial parachutes working with My 64bit FIX(Updated tutorial from the one I posted pages back)Here is a few pictures that could help you do this. http://imgur.com/a/EkmuM#

Also, thanks for all you've been doing to help me and everone else out.
Tassyr
So I've run into an odd one and I need to know how to fix it. My kerbals are unable to take anything OUT of a container. I can put things IN, but then they're permanently stuck. Help?

I've tried 3 fresh 64 bit game installs. (and yes i have been installing the game and mods correctly as you have stated step by step) Any idea where I can go to paste the errors and help me track it down? I know someone told me the debug error isn't very helpful. But this it what it says:[Exception]: MissingMethodException: Method not found: 'Part.LoadModule'.That's all it shows me. Thanks for your patch and hard work. It at least allows me to use the mod and completely works for most others out there. On a side note, a few posts back I saw some talk about problems on Minmus. Sometimes when I load into my base there it begins to float up in the air about 20m and then gravity takes hold of it again. Sometimes my station doesn't land flat and topples over and things break off so I just reload and continue when it lands correctly. [Details]: Kethane drill base with KAS pipes to a rover and a fuel tanker. Only seems to do this on load in and only when pipes are connected. It could also be that I am on a slight incline. I don't really know but it is kinda weird.

Tw1
Does anybody have the KAS MM for the Kerbals to be able to grab anything and not just KAS parts? If anybody has it, please re-post thxYou can achieve this by editing "addmodule" in KAS's files. Copy and paste everything from "GRAB" to "]", then change the part name to the name of the part you want to be grabable. The name will be in the part's cfg. Then edit other numbers, such as storage size to suit. Repeat until all the parts you want to grab are in there.

If that doesn't work Then I would do fresh install of KAS from Majiir then install 64bit fix if your on 64bit KSP if your on 32bit KSP do the 32bit recompile. FreakyCheeseMan
Howdy all. So, whenever I try to grab a part off my my space station made of two large stations docked through a clamp-o-tron, everything explodes and the kerbal is launched ridiculously fast into space. One time, grabbing from the far end from the docked port, the kerbal was thrown but the station didn't explode. If you check my signature you will find links to updated versions. If your running KSP 32bit Download the 32bit Recompile, if your running KSP 64bit download the 64bit Fix. If you are unable to get it working with the following information found in my signature let me know and I'll do my best to help you.
SuccessPastaTime
Hey guys, I've decided to install Linux, but before I go ahead, I was wondering if any of you might know if Linux 64bit will need the same 64bit recompile or if it will have the same problems as Windows 64 with this awesome add on. I appreciate any responses and want to thank everyone for this work on this mod.

There's a vague chance I messed something up and used a backed-up old zip, but it's unlikely.) I'll re-install when I get home, see if anything changes.By the way, it worked fine earlier, on a somewhat simpler ship with no docked components. I'd forgotten about this, but when I first installed your fix it didn't do anything - no parts were added. I figured maybe it was *just* a fix, and I needed to have the old KAS in there, too, so I added that as well, and it seemed to work until this bug.I've gone back through and removed the original KAS, replacing it with just yours, but now the parts don't load at all. So... I seem to be installing it wrong? Seeing what happens if I just replace the one .dll (which seems to be the only file in the fix.)EDIT 2: That worked! Sorry for the confusion, and thanks for the help. Edited August 8, 2014 by FreakyCheeseMan

JeffersonFlight
For anyone that still might be having problems with containers and my 64bit KAS fix here is a new version that hopefully removed those rare errors. I have tested it a bit but as always take with a grain of salt.Because circumstances will have me unable to update KAS in a timely manner, I am temporarily allowing the distribution of the KAS plugin modified for 0.24 compatibility purposes. Please do not distribute any models, textures or other art assets, and please do not distribute any part configuration files. If you'd like to balance part costs, please use a ModuleManager patch. This permission applies to the plugin only. (The KAS project has a number of contributors, and it's always a challenge to ensure all creators' rights are respected.) Please link to modifications in this thread and avoid third-party sites like Curse. (Something like Dropbox or Google Drive for hosting is fine.)This exception shall expire as soon as I release an official update, so please bear that in mind. This is intended to allow volunteers to address compatibility issues for the players, not to otherwise grant distribution rights to the KAS plugin. In no way is this an official patch or in any way representing Majiir.https://www.dropbox.com/s/0f4x4xcu2drbmkp/KAS_64bit_24_3.zipTo fix grabbing radial parachutes from containers follow this tutorial here http://imgur.com/a/EkmuM#

smart013
As said before, kas is mostly working for me in 32bit. But recently the eva struts dont work anymore. First download this(Its Majiirs KAS) https://nabaal.net/files/ksp/KAS_v0.4.7.zipExtract the GameData folder from the zip file^ into your KerbalSpaceProgram directory( you can find this location by right click on the launch icon and selection open file location OR through STEAM right click on Kerbal Space Program and select properties then select local files and next click on browse local files)After that you need to download my KAS fix or KAS recompile depending on if you are playing KSP 32bit or KSP 64bit. You can check this by look to the bottom right while KSP is running at the main menu.If you are running 32bit KSP download this https://www.dropbox.com/s/qgp9a06n2k2pq2d/KAS32bitRecompile.zip and do the same as we did before extract the GameData folder from the zip to the Kerbal Space Program directory and override what it ask.If you are running 64bit KSP download this https://www.dropbox.com/s/4kaie9rnpio42r8/KAS_64bit_24_2.zip and same again extract the GameData folder from the zip to Kerbal Space Program directory and override what it ask.For 64bit only if the above version is messing up with containers try this version https://www.dropbox.com/s/0f4x4xcu2drbmkp/KAS_64bit_24_3.zipI hope this resolves the issue for you but if not I would check the last few pages and see if anything posted might help you.As said before, kas is mostly working for me in 32bit. JeffersonFlight
@Smart013 the struts seem to be working fine. It takes some position of the strut ends sometimes to get them to work but they do.
