Locking the landing gear suspension in position.

Recommended Posts

Spootyman (one of your Squadcasters) suggested the ability to lock the landing gear suspension once the ship has landed, Yargnit commented that the UI was cluttered, and creating a new button my prove problematic. What could be done is locking the landing gear suspension with the break buttons, on top of making it action group-able.

Also, more action group slots would be nice (using alt + numbers or numpads) would be VERY useful.

i agree, but why limit it to after landing? we ought to have the ability to lock before landing, basically reproducing the rigid landing legs of before the update. I only say this because docking two landed vessels is the cornerstone of my reusable Laythe SSTO and exploration plane programs. without i can't refuel on the ground

+1 to the suggestion

Another few possibilities:

1- When the breaks are applied the gears slowly extend to their maximum (so the craft doesn't bounce crazily), then lock in position.

2- When the breaks are applied the gears slowly extend to their maximum, BUT they will ALSO attempt to keep the craft perpendicular to sea level (pointing straight up), then lock in position.
