What does "recover" mean

Recommended Posts

Hi, since I am unable to land stuff without using struts on kerbin (even if i use engines and land with 0.5 m/s, the command pod will simpy fall off), I tried to leave a vehicle constructed out of several command Pods on the launch pad, go out in EVA, take samples, bring them back, transmit them and esc+Space center. however, I have not gotten ANY Science points for that, even though the ingame message stated I had received 14.2 Points. So what do I have to do to end a mission properly ( so I can receive the SP afterwards) and what does "recover a probe" mean?

Hi!

hit escape key.

select spaceport

from spaceport click on tracking station

from tracking screen select your mission

click recover button (lower left green icon/button)

select recover from the pop up.

points show up in after recovery.

from there you can go back to spaceport and go to the research station and spend points on tech.

There's also a "recover" button hidden behind the altimeter. Simply take your mouse up to the top of the screen (above the altimeter) when you're watching your craft and, provided it's landed, there should be a "recover" drop down menu.

This only works for the vessel you're currently controlling though. So if you're on EVA and you opt to recover, you'll have to do as BostLabs says via the spacecentre tracking screen to recover the vessel you left behind.
