The Stanley Parable

The Destroyer

At first I didn't know what the hype was about... now I know.

SPOILERES AHEAD!

I'm using white text, so highlight it to see spoilers!

I initally started out, with the two doors. I decided to defy the announcer, again and again. Eventually, I ended up in MINECRAFT, and he built a dirt hut, I then went and died in a dark cave, waking up in portal! Then When the elevator left before me, I fell to this "Beta" area, with no announvcer voice.. that's creepy. Eventually the game ended. Another ending, I jumped off the manufacturing area, died, and it ended. I'VE ONLY PLAYED 30 MINUTES!

Got really bored last night and checked the steam-store, just because. Stumbled over this one and watched two vids. The narrator (sp, please?) sounds awesome and the text is witty and ´stylish´ (for lack of better term). I really liked that. But i figured, that´s probably all i like about it and decided not to buy the cat which is advertised for the bag it sits in (german saying: To buy a cat in the bag - think Schrödinger).

I've been thinking up so more endings to be considered.

1. A more Serious look on the broom closet ending.

As the title says on this, if you should delete the boards on the broom closet after you go there twice, and unlock the door with the console. You are taken to 'The serious room' And your punishment is something... But PLOT TWIST! you can escape by a keypad that is behind the door, if you delete the door, the code being '8888'. And that leads to some ending.

2. A choice to go down the elevator in the large round room with monitors.

Title says it all. you can chose whether to go up or down.

3. Confusing ending continued.

Perhaps a way that the confusing ending could go a bit longer. I don't know how exactly, perhaps following the schedule.

4. Deleting too many doors

If you remove/unlock too many doors using the console. the narrator will take notice and say things like "You see, nothing behind this on either, mostly because you were never supposed to remove the door in the first place" Or "Congratulations. that's another door you've deleted! At this rate, you should crash you game in-" and then it restarts.

Why did you include a picture of Minecraft?

BTW, played the demo recently. As crazy as the full game. :D

Because in the Stanley Parable you can get to Minecrraft.

The fourth one is true.

About the demo: the narrator forgot we are in the demo when he asked for a rating of the game. Then the demo lab deteriorated as the light nearby "Demo in Progress" lighted, and the lab became a mess. But that isn't the end. Dun dun DUN! :D

SPOILERS AHEAD! IF YOU WANT TO KNOW THE ENDING OF THE DEMO THE PROPER WAY, PLAY THE DEMO!

First I've entered the room. I then got 28, waited until the clock gets to 28. Then I went into the office and in front of the TV. The narrator's voice then showed up, and after a while of nonsense, invited me into the room. After I visited some lab features I got out of the lab, danced (because the narrator wanted), and walked out. For some reason I went back the passage and the process started again. Take 2 went into a number game (which is just crazy), and I went out into the parking lot. After some consulting I went back, but then the Ending signs appeared and the narrator sent me into the storage room, placing cups, and tried the TSP prize again, but really, he told me to vote. When I try to vote however, the button won't budge. Then master alarm (light near by "Demo in Progress" appeared. The narrator then rushed me into the lab, but then it was deteriorating, and we got into the pod of sorts, and the narrator told about what he imagined... (Again play the demo, I do not want to tell you the ending of the demo.) :)

I am really proud and glad that the mod became an actual game. Definitely worth it IMO. If you like TSP you should look into Anti-chamber. Its not as long as TSP but it is good.
Wait what, mod?
TSP was built from the Valve Source Engine, so I think the term mod is pretty loose here.

I think what tobjv means is that this is actually the second version of Stanley Parable... the old version was indeed a halflife mod. You can actually see part of the old mod recreated in the new version at the end of the storyline that leads you through minecraft.
