I don't know if someone already suggested this but it wasn't in the "Already Suggested List". So last time i was flying around Kerbin with my Spaceplane and in Map View i noticed, that planes are displayed with the capsule icon. I play KSP since 1 Year now and as far as i know Planes have been a feature before docking port and therefore space stations. So why is there no icon for it? I guess it's something really small to change but it would be really nice since there are a lot of people (including me) that use spaceplanes a lot.

More icons in the rename dialogue would be great, I personally want "Satellite" as a separate type to "Probe", and perhaps also a distinction between probe orbiters and probe landers. I've also heard of people wanting other icons, such as "Mothership" for those big interplanetary vessels, and manned rovers.

I do support aircraft icons, though perhaps different icons for aeroplanes and spaceplanes?

I agree, we need icons for planes and space planes, maybe have it based on if it has a rocket engine or not. We also need icons for recoverable stages for when money starts to matter and they add support for Falcon 9-ish rockets landing on their own, as well as icons for motherships/mobile space stations/whatever you call big interplanetary ships.

Somewhat related idea i just had: Why not make the icons colored so you can filter based on that too? And have one color saved for ships that were part of your ship at launch.

You mean gray/white when you look at the bar in the tracking station? Right click the icons
