Best joolen moon to observe the others?

I'm looking to put a base in jool to do SCIENCE and do some astronomy on the others moons.

so what moon should i put the base on and what side realtive to jool? (Far, rising, near, setting)?

I'd say pol, farthest out, and I think you might want a base near the equator so your always in view of the other joolian moons

It has to be Pol. It's the furthest moon out, meaning that all the others will always be in the same celestial hemisphere as Jool, and it's also tidally locked. You could put a base on the near side and all four inner moons, plus Jool itself, would always be visible in roughly the same part of the sky.

Laythe have atmosphere so others moons would be hard to see. Bop and Pol too far and moons would be very small on the sky. Vall or Tylo is good, I think.

Laythe: Tidally locked to Jool, fairly similar to Kerbin just a bit smaller (oxygen atmosphere, lower atmosphere height and a bit less gravity (0.8g)).

Vall: Tidally locked to Jool. Not unlike Mün but with a bit higher gravity and a lot smoother surface.

Tylo: Can be a pain to land on: 0.8g gravity but no atmosphere e.g. no aerobraking.

Bop: Gravity similar to Minmus but without the nice flat frozen lakes. Bop is very uneven and has deceivingly steep hills.

Pol: Tidally locked. Very low gravity, simply walking on the surface is not possible.

If you want a ground base I'd suggest either Vall or Bop but personally I'd build my base in orbit.

I've chosen Vall.

and the reason it don't want it in orbit is because jool moves across the sky, that makes it hard to see the tiny moons
