Launch Pad... In Minecraft!

I\'m going to begin construction on a replica of the launch pad from KSC in Minecraft.

Here\'s the to-do list: Meh. Too restrictive. This will be built in sections, so I have no idea about planning.

Progress updates will be posted somewhat regularly!

Right, I\'ve determined that the launch pad is 14 meters across... which is discouraging, as I prefer that my structures are always odd-numbered.

Behold, the official Kerbal Measuring Stick:

It\'s 15 one-meter fuel tanks, and we\'ve got the ones on the side hanging off by half... which makes it 14 meters across.

An interesting side note: That circle isn\'t painted onto the pad, it floats in midair. You can see it on the very left of this next picture.

@JupiterII: Only way to do it!

@ping111: Good idea. It matches the color better.

Go Luigi, go Luigi, go Luigi!

My 1.8 base had a tiny and terrible designed Mission Control, but it had seats and the big screen, a large iron block launchpad complete with a rocket;

That\'s is roughly my rocket. It had a small two-seater Apollo style capsule, a main liquid tank in the middle, and two side SRB\'s.

The rocket engines blew out lava onto the launchpad.

There was a stone path in the desert sand for transport trucks to move the rocket, Soyuz style. That lead to the VAB and Launchpad.

Then there was a pretty terrible constructed radar/radio dish.

Should have added an observatory in retrospect.

This is going to be huge.

I\'m sorry, what?

That\'s 39 1m fuel tanks. About a half-meter of clearance on either end, so that\'s 40 total.

Yes, it\'s going to be huge. 8) The issue I haven\'t figured out yet is how I\'m going to measure the distance from the end of the ramp to the VAB.

You best hurry before KSC gets more buildings! And don\'t forget the runway!

Hate to say it, but you are going to have to break out the calculator for that. Knowing the size of the pad and length of the ramp alone is really all you should need from there.
