Class D and D-N Boosters

A Pair of Subassemblies for you. My Type D and D-N Boosters. Both are capable of getting a craft to orbit with significant excess Delta V. In fact the lift capacity is so high that in a straight vertical burn you can escape the Sun with something like just a capsule on top. ALso only needs the Big SRB's, Struts, and the Second type of radial connector so a perfect early career option.

Whilst not capable of hefting a return mission to other planets, it's quite capable of reaching Jool or pulling a Mun/Minimuas return mission for you.

Obviously neither of the example payloads is a perfect demonstration of their capabilities, but it does put the lifting power into perspective for you.

Well i doubt it could do a 100 tons either, a quick check before bed shows the heaviest thing i ever put on it was 10 tons, but it's got a lot of excess Dv with that on so a fair increase would be possible, just not sure on how much.

Well the main point of sharing this was to provide people early in career mode with a booster capable of hefting a payload for return Orbital/Mun/Munimas/Solar missions and one way missions to virtually anywhere else you care to name too. It's not meant to be a super booster, there's bigger tanka with bigger engines alongside to do that kind of heavy lifting further up the tree.

Ah, for a career mode booster then, this is freaking fantastic! I usually like manned landers that can do multiple landings for science, and early on, the return journey might be difficult.

Yeah you only need a 155 science to unlock the thing, if you want a payload with science bay and panels you'll need another 205 but it still greatly opens your options for you compared to the 1000+ science you need for the big boosters with huge engines.
