Sound Cues

Recommended Posts

I was thinking about this last night, I'd find it helpful to have a audio or visual cue when reaching certain altitudes or angles.

This would be beneficial when changing Throttle etc or to help when planning maneuvers..

What are your thoughts on this? I hope its not been suggested already, in which case my apologies.

I think more sounds is always a plus, and this in particular would be pretty cool. I'd like to hear the kerbals say things like "the vehicle is supersonic" in backwards spanish, and you can learn what it sounds like to clue into the launch process :P

I actually wouldn't mind this at all. Simple sounds and Kerbal language.

For example I'd love to hear Jebediah shouting "Poyekhali!" on every launch of a vehicle he's in. Jeb only.

Kerbal equivalence of ground proximity warning system would be great. "PULL UP... PULL UP... PULL UP!" (in Kerbal)

If you're running low on fuel, fuel alarm. Low on electric charge? Battery alarm. Toggleable, of course.

It would make the game more fun.

What is Poyekhali?

Some other suggestions :)

* Situation is nominal

* Periodic announcements of speed while in an atmosphere at 100 m/s intervals

* Leaving the troposphere

* leaving the atmosphere

* Entering the atmosphere

* Vehicle is supersonic

* About to crash

* Orbit achieved

* Now suborbital

* Hyperbolic Escape achieved

* Successful docking.

* Unexpected collision

* A tank has been depleted.

* New speed record

* Mach/re-entry effect observed

* Batteries depleted

* Something exploded

* Chute opened

* Chutes just broke off

* Kerbal is doomed...

* Landed on a foreign body, some kind of little speech and the kerbal looks back at Kerbin.

Brilliant idea right here: A computer overload monitor, if the CPU core KSP uses goes over 95% or KSP's RAM usage goes over 3,5GB all cockpits (maybe just the two lander cans?) would have two little LEDs (like the SAS, RCS, etc indicators) with the text 1201 and 1202 light up!

Alternatively, if the framerate drops below 10, the alarm would sound and the 1201 and 1202 lights would light up!

To you that don't understand: Apollo 11 landing reference.

Gagarin shouted it. There is audio on Youtube.

Great suggestions. Now imagine all that, plus Kerbals going nuts in IVA view, showing each other and arguing when sh*t hits the fan.

Whats with the backward spanish?

Why cant it just be like the sims or spore where there is just language sounding sounds. I imagine kerbals speaking like the minions from despicable me.

Amazing how disinformation spreads. Like fire on gasoline soaked floor. You just can't do anything about it.

Kerbal language is scrambled with bits of reversed Spanish, but bits only. If you reverse it, you won't be able to understand it even if you're native speaker.

So in a way, it is gibberish just like in Sims.
