KC 12 Pelican, 8 Kerbal SSTO

Welcome to your first look at the KC 12 Pelican. The Pelican is an 8 Kerbal SSTO shuttle capable of extended flights both in space and atmosphere. Based on the frame of an obsolete kerban bomber, the Pelican has the ability to maneuver like a fighter, rather than the roomy Kerbal Carrier that it really is. A balerina in the air, on the runway the KC 12 is skittery, and it's advised that around 60-70 m/s you start bringing the nose up. Also, due to it's need for extended operations in orbit, the Pelican is rather heavy, and it is advisable to keep it in a shallow climb at 15,000 meters or higher.

This is a neat way of resolving things. I was trying to build a station crew recovery spaceplane, but couldn't figure out how to efficiently increase the capacity, since the hitchhiker container is larger than the Mk1 and 2 cockpits.

scootersoup, It's pretty much intended as a crew shuttle for stations. It has to land on it's gear, so landing on low grav planetary bodies with no atmo may be a little tricky, but it should be possible. I haven't tried it, though.

nice craft ! but where is the jet fuel (only) tank ?

Hey Eldar, there isn't a jet fuel tank. It's a very small ssto and there isn't enough lift or room for much fuel. So, it only has the two large rocket fuel tanks which feed the four engines, 2 jets and 2 atomics.
