This is how I track my missions. Any suggestions on improving it?

The primary numbering system is by Launch no, the latest was the 17^th launch in this save. The Launch code [C03M2P2] stands for Campaign 3 [Mun probes] Mission 2 [Mun Orbiters] Phase 2[Orbiter no 2]. I denote currency with C because while mods use Krones, there is no info yet for what the official currency will be.

In the description for the craft, I have written -

Name - Muna 3

Launch no - 17,18,...

Launches - 2

Description - A probe with science and mapping instruments and inbuilt 2.4k m/s Deltav rocket.

Purpose - Extensively map the Mun to prepare for a Manned mission to it.

Notes - [1] SAS failure during ascent, probe's reaction wheels were not strong enough to hold the craft stable. Circularisation failed. Muna 4 is now the farthest object from Kerbin at 68,000 km. It is in solar orbit with no electricity. At MET 10 days and 20 hours, mission control declared Launch 17 to be a failure.

Ps. How do you guys track your missions? I wanted to discuss how to improve it and create a good system that lets you plan [potentially with economics in the future] and provides a unifying overarching narrative to our space program. This is a sister thread to the one on the subreddit.

I have a mission template as a text file, that lists the purpose of the mission, along with a complete list of all the steps (launch, 1st stage sep, circularise, transfer burn etc) along the way. I tick these off as they are completed and add notes for anything that could be improved. Then at the end of the mission, I write a separate narrative account of how the mission went, together with screenshots. This is mostly for my dad, who likes the idea (and has a copy) of the game, but is mostly too nervous to actually play it.

Naming and tracking are needed when launching multiple campaigns to several locations. That makes efficient use of Kerbal time where you may have to wait years to get a launch window to planets after the last one. Launching staggered rockets will allow a greater chance of success with some or all as you get one into the most efficient intercept possible from the experience of the others. (Most useful if the Krackin decides to eat parts off of one of your deep space ships in flight.)

This thread is quite old. Please consider starting a new thread rather than reviving this one.
