Multiple radial decouplers

Recommended Posts

Thanks for the answer. I feel like the struts are great for tension (stopping forces in opposite directions), but are they effective for compression (forces opposing each other), too?

I guess since they look like thick wires i've been hesitant to use them for anything other than tension stabilization.

No, they are rigid in both directions.

On your question: You can't build things in a circle, only as a tree. The result is that you can attatch a part to only 1 other part. You can't connect anything to 2 attatchment nodes at the same time, 1 of the 2 will not stick

Will structures built off of one radial decoupler automatically link up to other radial decouplers (or structures built off other radial decouplers) when the parts touch?

Thanks! :)

Tried it and it doesn't work. Use struts to brace. For asparagus, this bracing pattern works quite well;

For a ring of SRBs, this pattern works with no bracing needed across the decoupler. It appears that decouplers are strong enough so long as there is no twisting forces.
