This the first craft I have shared for a long time. (Since before the April purge)

Introducing the B-52 Stratofortress

I designed this craft as an all stock model based on the B-52 Stratofortress. It actually flies quite nicely despite its bulky appearance. This model features swept wings and dual intakes. Unfortunately, it is not designed as a bomber.

Flight Characteristics:

-Has the ability to reach any place on Kerbin

-Cruising altitude: ~25km

-Speed: ~1.6 km/s at 25km

-(You could go a little higher and faster if you know what you are doing)

-This aircraft is flown the way any other upper atmosphere craft is to be flown

Modifying this craft

The aircraft I have provided does nothing but fly with the file I provided. Modifications to the craft, however, can extend its capabilities. Here are some ideas and things I have tried:

-Mounting drop tanks on the wings

-Attaching scientific gear on the front, back and sides (dont forget electricity)

-Theoretically, mounting a small probe on top could allow it to easily get into space. You would have to make the rudder smaller, though.

Have fun!
