Im looking to start building a space station/refueling station and was wondering what are the best mods to start with? I tried Fustek 0.35a but it turned my KSP funny causing works on the start up to go missing and no items appeared in my inventory.

Well, I've not figured out how it works yet, but this docking camera mod appears to make obtaining a fine approach to a complicated structure much less labor intensive. I haven't really figured it out yet, preferring to fly manual once I use it to get me more or less on, but I think designing around that mod is super worth it for just stock stations.

Two very good mods to use for station building:

1. Docking Port Alignment Indicator

2. RCS build Aid

The first one will make docking much easier for assembly, and the second will make sure that with some good VAB designing docking multiple modules for a station will not only be easy but also fun.

Docking port alignment mod is good...but nothing comes close to HydroTech for docking! Takes the BS out of docking, leaves the fun parts =)

As far as parts go...(my opinions)

KOSMOS has the best solar panels and good OMEngines

HOME Gen2 is great for fuel storage and housing (both on planets and for stations)
