Electric Problem using Batteries - outcome: Bug

Recommended Posts

Ok I'm at noob stage and have started career mode, I have yet to unlock solar panels so I stuck batteries on my craft, but, my command pod is draining to zero charge, and I cannot maneuver, I still have charge in my batteries it seems I'm unable to use it? what do I have to do to get charge into my pod? - I cant find anything on the wiki about transferring charge.

If you haven't researched solar panels then you can use an engine that generates power see here for a list http://wiki.kerbalspaceprogram.com/wiki/Electric_charge. Try and limit science transmission to when you need to burn.

As for your battery issue I'm a bit puzzled, usually when you add batteries you can access its power from your pod no problem, I seem to remember reading somewhere about various power issue bugs so this could be a bug. Can you double check your pod torque is still on? Do that by right-clicking the pod.

That's a little weird. Usually electric charge is distributed and drained evenly across the whole ship. There shouldn't be a situation where you have to transfer charge, unless the pod is somehow isolated from the rest of the ship by a part that can't transfer electricity...?

The battery is on the pod.. it is holding 40/100 charge, yet it is not replenishing the pod.

Wondering if this is a bug, or a feature?

I turn SAS off to coast in deep space, everything else is enabled, (the right click menu showed green triangles against all options)

The resources tab is showing each charge stored on that screenshot, it is not balanced, and does not seem to change over time.

Have you tried Alt+LMB like you would transfer fuel? It may not work, but it's an option (And I remember reading somewhere that it was possible)

Lmb & rmb with and without alt/ctrl/shift all tried and failed. Can't seem to move it.

I think I'll put it down to a bug and work around it for the time being...
