Well... this may not seem like a big deal, but I feel like it'd be an easy addition to the next update.

stop the birds from chirping when viewing the space center at night! (in the screen where you select where you want to go)

maybe swap the sound clip over to some crickets, that'd give a much better ambience experience.

That would actually be pretty neat. A minor convenience, to be sure - but no more or less significant than having day or night in the KSC screen in the first place.

Yeah, but if they had bird strikes they'd need to add a river near the facility and a voice over a radio, in a THICK Jersey accent saying, "You're doing what?"

I would go the opposite direction and have them place birds in the actual game to represent what we hear at KSC. Flocks of 2d birds flying overhead would be super cool. Not sure if this goes against the "no aliens" rule. But having variations on other planets like Laythe would add a lot of spice to the game with minimal work.
