Kerbin Engineering & Science Administration - Latest video: 11/22/2013

I have started a new career mode series that I will be playing and recording. This is only the second game video I've ever made, so it's still pretty scrubbish in my eyes. After watching all the awesome videos people have made, I thought I would like to learn how to make them as well. So here I am!

This series will focus on using probes and un-crewed vessels to explore the mysteries of the Kerbol system. Below you will find the list of mods I will be using and the rules I will be following throughout the series.

List of mods used (updated list for 0.23):

Active Memory Reduction Mod

Deadly Reentry *

Kerbal Engineer

Ferram Aerospace Research

Kerbal Attachment System

Kerbal Joint Reinforcement

KESA Resource Integration

Kethane

KSP Interstellar

KSP Stock Expansion *

KW Rocketry *

Procedural Fairings *

Remote Tech 2 (signal delay disabled)

RLA_Stockalike *

ScanSat

TAC Life Support

Mods with an asterisk (*) next to their name indicates that I pruned out parts that I rarely or never use. This let me cut down on memory usage quite a bit. During testing of this mod set, I was running at around 1.08 gigs of RAM usage at start up, 1.15-1.2 gigs of RAM usage once I started building and flying rockets.

KESA rules:

- No Kerbals outside of Kerbin SOI

(may simulate radiation shielding with 6 heat shields or structural panels if I decide to build a station around something with a large enough magnetic field to protect against harmful stellar radiation)

- No more than 2 KSP Interstellar science labs per SOI

- Keep reloading (F5/F9) to minimum (mod bugs or game crash, situations like that)

- One research node purchase allowed per mission completion

I welcome feedback and advice, just please be gentle. :)

I got a mic from this decade when I went on holiday to see my folks for Christmas. I'm resetting this series up for KSP 0.23 and changing up the mod list a bit. Will be updating the OP to reflect changes to the series due to new mods and changes from 0.23. For example, the science changes in 0.23 reduce the need to limit transmitting data. A feature coming in KSP Interstellar is requiring radiation shielding. There are also large water tanks added in KSPI 8.0, so those might also be an option for me to use as "radiation shielding" for crewed missions outside of Kerbin's SOI. Regardless, the vast majority of this series will still focus on using probes for exploration.

New videos to commence soon!
