Selective throttle control

For some craft, the weight of the payload isn't balanced properly between all of the engines. It would be cool if engines had individual throttle controls by means of a right click menu or an action group setting. This would allow you to put the engine, with the most weight on it, at full throttle while the other engines can be throttled down. I would only think that you would need three sets of these at maximum active at one time. Much how the recover craft menu pops down from the altimeter, you could just have the alternate throttles pop out of the side of the current throttle control once the controls are activated. Switch between one or the other by clicking on the throttle. Or to use both, click on one, then ctrl+click on the other, much how selecting multiple parts in stages works.

This has already been suggested. I do like the idea of selective throttle control for VTOL craft though.

Sounds more suitable for a mod than the core game IMO. The ability to add slightly obscure features that extend the game a bit is exactly why it's been designed as moddable. For the core game it would be simpler and better to just encourage people to design well-balanced vehicles.

the engines should be able to run in "dumb" mode where it runs like now and in "stabilized" mode where the engines throttle to keep the center of thrust exactly thrugh the center of mass first by gimballing and if that is insuficient throteling.

There are already mods that do exactly this. Can't remember the name but I am certain somebody else does.

I believe the mod you are thinking of is KerbCom Avionics. It has a solver that automatically computes the optimal balance of thrust, gimballing, RCS, and reaction wheels to keep your rocket pointed where you want it. Unfortunately, it doesn't look like it's been updated for 0.22.
