Most kerbals to the Mun and back

Recommended Posts

Smidge: Here we go, I just got almost twice the previous guy's at 104. Later.

Other guys: WTF?

One of the other guys: Well, its hard, but I think I might just be able to get a couple dozen more...?

Smidge: LOL Nope nope nope! 210 now!

Just watch, someone will get 214, and then Smidge will get uppity again and make a 400 monster.

I take care of the 400 monster :D

Here comes the Hotel Munaire Revisited, now with rooms for 410 Kerbals.

I think I've reached my limits as my PC melted (900+ parts) and manually piloting this vessel with a huge moment of inertia at 3-5 fps is very difficult (<-- understatement spotted). For something bigger, I'll have to use the welding mod and mechjeb's autopilot...

Yes you're right. I didn't uninstall mechjeb (or hide it somewhere inside the lander), nor did I uninstall other mods like city lights & clouds, enhanced navball, texturecompressor, Kethane, ... because when I did, almost all my other spacecrafts and flights were deleted from the save file when I reloaded my session :(

Plus a few screenshots shown here were taken when testing the vessel (looking at dV stats, mass, ...) because they are better than others.

Anyway, I didn't use it and I manually piloted this vessel. I must say it was more challenging than to build it.

But as I said in my previous post, I will have to use mechjeb's autopilot for something bigger because I won't be able to fly it myself :)

Not calling you a cheater, just naughty :D

But don't get too comfortable, I've already designed a ship worth 700 Kerbals and successfully tested it for landing and returning from Mun... and I have a lifter stage that I can glue on that just might get her into orbit.

And yes, that's one ship...

Edit: I was ~80m/s short of landing that beast in one piece on Kerbin without chutes :D

Well, the best lifter I've come up with so far ended up being a 3000+ part monster, and my CPU was having none of it.

Still working on it. I think my part limit is somewhere in the 2300 range so I'm going completely back to the drawing board on this one. Besting 410 is not a problem at all - but I want to do it by a comfortable margin.
