Navball in orbit mode?

Help! I can't seem to get the navball to appear when I'm in the orbit view. I looked online and the wiki told me to press that delete key on my numpad, but all that does is switch to staging view. I also couldn't find it in the key bindings in-game.

Also, any other keyboard/control tips for a relative newbie would be greatly appreciated

Maybe your keybindings have been changed -- did you change them?

Anyway, there's a little tab in the bottom of the screen where the navball would be. CLick that to show the navball. The keybind is just for convenience

Ah thanks, the little tab seems to work. I'm still not sure what is wrong with the key bindings though

Maybe your keybindings have been changed -- did you change them?

This key cannot be configured.

However it is the "./Del" key on numpad, usually below the "3/PgDn" key, not the Del key which is usually in the group above arrows. On notebook keyboards without separate numpad that key may not be available without switching to Numlock mode when many other keys get remapped too.

Click on the little arrow above the navball will toggle it up/down, both in normal and map view

Make sure you're pressing the . key on the number pad.
