The dark side

Every time I go around the dark side of a planet, it's pretty hard to see the surface of the planet. This makes my landings pretty hard, especially on Eve and Laythe, because I can't see whether I'm going to land on land or sea. So my suggestion is to add some sort of night vision, or just plain increase the brightness when your view is focused on the dark side. If there's a mod that already does that, ignore my suggestion.

I think Squad's balancing between game and reality won't include lighting up the dark side of planets. May I suggest setting up a parking orbit and picking your landing point a bit more carefully? One of the mapping mods may also be of use.

Mount lights on your lander, so you can see the surfance while landing

I don't have problem with night landings, but in the map view it would be nice if dark sides of planets were made lighter. It's a map after all, and maps are not supposed to turn black during night.

At the very least the reflected light of any moons or nearby planets should be simulated to some extent, in my opinion -- this is, I think, why it's so dark; the game doesn't care much about reflecting the Sun's light off the Mun to Kerbin, for instance.

So....don't land on the dark side. Even the real moon landings chose the time of their landing carefully so that the lighting was optimal.
