stuff is not docking

Recommended Posts

Anyone know what I'm doing wrong?

Playing carrier mode, 0.22, trying to dock 2 ships with Shielded clam-o-tron docking ports. The ships just wont take, bumping off each other. I've selected the other port as target and selected my port as "control from here" (even though this didn't change the nav-ball). I've tried from the other ship, I've check there's no obstructions.... I'm at a loss.

I've got 4 parts of a small station up there, and one 2 will dock to each other, but none of the rest will. Occasionally I'll ge the magnetic "pull" the ships together, but they wont combine into one ship.

Anyone got any advice?

Sorry, I can't see the image... Try spinning the ships on their axis with Q and E. Or back up with RCS and come back in.

Heya,

Both ports are open, but are labeled as "locked" (I'm not sure if that's relevant). I've spend about 2 hours for the last 2 nights trying this, It wont take. I've tried matching their z axis which doesn't seem to help. Maybe they Z axis should be inverted? so "up" on one is "down" for anyoher. It's really weird. Given the amount of effort that I've put into this, I'd almost say it was a bug. I might go into sandbox and see if I can reproduce this.

It's odd, because of the 4 modules up there ( Lets call them A, B, C and D), A and B will dock to each other, but not to C or D. and C and D wont dock to anything.

Sounds like you got the same bug I did. The ports shouldn't be locked, so you need to either edit the save file or undock something else on the ship, and it'll reset the locked docking ports.

Yep, it's a bug, more than likely the result of coming in too fast on your first attempt. What can sometimes happen is if you come in too fast your ports will bounce off of each other and while they will say docked they won't actually be docked.

Almost same issue, study above link, and change the docking stage to ready.

Cheers chaps. I'll give that a bash.
