Picture of the Moon and Venus from Surface of Earth

This was taken from my Phone, Thats why it's not the best quality, but this is seen over North East England on the 5th of December.

I know that these are the 2nd and 3rd brightest objects in the sky, but I still find it pretty amazing that we've gotten to a point where you can just snap that picture with a phone camera. As I recall, you had to go to some trouble to do this with film.

It helps so much that it's winter in the Northern Hemisphere. It gets darker earlier, Venus is the morning/Evening star. Just so happened the Moon was hanging around at the right time.

Moon (I almost wrote Mün) was beautiful this evening. It was a nearly featureless crescent against a violet sky with orange, fiery clouds. A great sight and impossible to capture without a decent camera.

I saw it today, took a picture with heading info as well to find out what it was. Cannot believe how bright it was really an amazing sight. Pretty much only thing apart from moon that you can see reasonably well from where i live due to all the light pollution.

Venus is so bright it actually makes Shadows on earth.
