This contains some advice. The biggest part is making sure you are high over kerbin when building stations so that the ground stops rendering.

Also clear any debris from round kerbin using the space centre radar tracking station, and push the 'delta physics time slider' all the way right in the settings.

4G ram is middle of the road. I play modded on a 6g desktop and unmodded on a 2g lenovo laptop (slow load, laggy launches - keep camera pointed up away from the ground during launch).

RAM may be a part of your issue. do you have the dual or quad core version of the y560?

You want more than 4GB system Ram, r4pt0r, because other processes need space to work. Trust me, you don't want to experience Windows running out of RAM because KSP expanded to fill all 3.6GB it can consume, leaving Windows and its various background processes that last 400MB to work with.

i dont understand. i always hear 4gb is the max with 32 bit ksp?

It is the maximum KSP can use, but it is always nice to have extra RAM that the OS and other background applications can use instead of eating into the RAM used by the game...
