Time

Recommended Posts

I'm curious about how time is tracked in KSP. The rotational period of Kerbin is listed as 6 hrs, but I think the mission clock uses a 24 h day.

Also the wiki lists 106 d/yr, which assumes a 24 h day, not a 6 h day.

If it takes 6 h for kerbin to rotate (ignoring the sideral issue), why don't we say that kerbin has a has a 426 d/yr?

Sorry if this has been addressed else, I didn't see in a search.

We see the clock we are used to. Makes it much easier to work with.

No need to invent a new time system just for a game.

In the same way as we say 106 days in a kerbin year, we use earth days, or years, to talk about the rotation of other planets in our own universe. It's the only number most people can understand
