Rifter from EVE Online - flyable!

Recommended Posts

Good evening, Kerbonauts and Capsuleers! I present to you my latest creation, a model of the Rifter from EVE Online. I built this myself and adjusted it until it was flyable. It has enough struts to hold itself together and it is quite able to take off from the runway if you can keep it going in a straight line. It tends to veer to the side due to not having a tail fin--I didn't want to add one because it would make it look un-Rifter-like.

It doesn't really look exactly like a Rifter, so I'm sure some of you can do better. Go ahead and make some variations to this!

Here's her attributes:

She flies as gracefully as a puffin, and handles like a dying albatross:

Let me know what you think! If you make any adjustments to this and think you have something better, post pics and/or craft files below! I'm also interested to see what she looks like in space. She has a fair bit of rocket fuel and a significant amount of thrust, so it is likely possible to take her places if you could get her into orbit...

1: action 1 toggles all rocket engines

2: action 2 toggles outer jet engines

3: action 3 toggles intermediate jet engines

4: action 4 toggles center jet engine

edit: I just now realized that I didn't put a docking port on it.

The Hyperion would be difficult as it has a lott of curves that don't exist in stock parts. I have cylinders and squares, the only oval blister shapes are the moon goo canisters and radial RCS tanks. Hmm...I wonder if it could be made using those...

of course it would have to be rather small...
