Guest
I believe this might've been suggested, and plugins have long done it, but I recently saw this: http://www.pcgamer.com/2013/12/11/kerbal-space-programs-school-friendly-version-officially-launches-december-18/Basically, the KerbalEdu version introduces a craft analyzer for figuring out what the cause of failure is. As-is version probably wouldn't be suited for the normal KSP version, but nevertheless, something like that would be really nice to have in normal gameplay and absolutely godsend for mod devs. I'd like to see, for example, TWR, dV, lift, drag, maximum thrust, maximum G load, resources, terminal velocity at sea level... There's a lot of things that KSP could show, and it shouldn't require a plugin. People have suggested wind tunnels, but SPH does kind of work like a wind tunnel already, you can grab the plane and rotate it along X-axis to check how COL changes with AoA. If it also displayed center of drag and it's coefficient, it'd be very convenient. Same for lift rating of the vehicle.
vexx32
Showing vehicle parameters, e.g., weight, dV, thrust, etc., in the manner you describe is on the [thread=36863]What Not To Suggest List[/thread]. It's a common suggestion, and if you want it in the meantime there are plugins for this purpose. It will likely come to stock KSP in some form or other in the future, but no idea when, unfortunately. But yeah, it's on WNTS, so I'm gonna be locking this. Sorry.
