I got bored and tried something different. It works but still trying to make it as efficient as possible.

This is a re-usable elevating launch platform with 4 turbojets and 4 small liquid engines. Sattelite mounts on top.

Goes up straight and nearly instantly supersonic! When the air runs out just switch to the liquid engine and go as high as you want.

Then just undock the sattelite and fire its engine to make it orbit while the launcher falls back slowly to the ground.

Switch back to the launcher and lands easily back at space center. :)
