How to determine if you have hit terminal velocity // Find optimal throttle?

Recommended Posts

I take it you do not play dwarf fortress. I hear that has `fun` too...

In several hundred years KSP will become obsolete anyways. We'll be going to space on micorcline rockets powered by burning lignite bins. I'm sure it will be !!FUN!! :)

edit:

I'm not saying it's right... though it does make me suspect I suffer from some kind of mental illness :)

Oh boy, then i should be locked in a small room and kept under surveillance. I've spent probably as much time playing as crunching the numbers and the tip of my pencil :P

How about with FAR installed?

With a pointy shaped rocket, you're typical terminal velocity at LAUNCH is already 400 m/s. So terminal velocity isn't an issue. Stability is with FAR. Ferram recommends going with a TWR of 1.2-1.4. I prefer to put a bunch of tail fins on and burn like mad.
